TDA4601 Prepared by Francois Lhermite Ind. Appli.Engineering This application note describes a multiple output switch- mode power-supply delivering a total output power of 130 Watts. The architecture is based on the fly-back mode working in a free switching mode. Frequency range varies between 20 kHz at full {oad and 70 kHz in the stand-by condition (also called sleep-mode). input power is from the mains (220V ac) and is completely isolated from the output. Control and regulation are achieved by the IC TDA4601. The power-supply presents a linear foldback character- istic and is short-circuit proof. An under-voltage inhibit provides a protection against low mains level. The complete system is an excellent compromise between complexity, cost and performance.
